The galaxy power spectrum take on spatial curvature and cosmic concordance

The concordance of the ΛCDM cosmological model in light current observations has been subject an intense debate recent months. 2018 Planck Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) temperature anisotropy power spectrum measurements appear at face value to favour a spatially closed Universe with curvature parameter ΩK<0. This preference disappears if Baryon Acoustic Oscillation (BAO) are combined data break geometrical degeneracy, although reliability this combination questioned due strong tension present between two datasets when assuming curved Universe. Here, we approach issue from yet another point view, using full-shape (FS) galaxy spectrum, P(k), Spectroscopic Survey DR12 CMASS sample. By combining FS measurements, degeneracy and find ΩK=0.0023±0.0028. constrains be flat sub-percent precision, excellent agreement results obtained BAO measurements. However, as BAO, overall increase best-fit χ2 suggests similar level P(k) under assumption While on spatial remains open, our provide new perspectives issue, highlighting crucial role era precision cosmology.
